The reunion was held on May 18th to May 22nd, 2011.

A special evening is planned as the Pipe and Drum
Corps will be performing at the banquet.

St. Andrews Pipes & Drums of Tampa Bay
The
band is over 27 years old. There are 42 pipers & drummers on the current
roster. Approximately, eighteen members are Canadian visitors for the
winter months. The group was formed with the merger of the Tampa Shine
Band and the Tampa Band. We currently have five Pipe Majors in the band
from other bands in the northern United States & Canada.
This band has performed as the
opening act for three Rod Stewart Concerts at Tropicana Field in St.
Petersburg and the Tampa Fair Grounds and performed for sell-out crowds
twice at the Largo Cultural Center and has provided entertainment for
crowds at Scottish Games in Dunedin, Sarasota, Savannah, Charleston, and
Stone Mountain, GA. Taking part in numerous Kirkin ‘O the Tartans in
churches throughout the Tampa Bay area each year.
There is a CD called “Take to the
Field” which was produced by the band four years ago that has sold over
1500 copies. It is the only pipe band CD in which the band not only
plays, but sings and contains tunes performed by Mr. Perry Craft, Hall
of Fame Fiddler from Nova Scotia and Ms. Sheena Mill, soprano singer
from Fife, Scotland. The band is currently producing its second CD.
The St. Andrews Band not only plays
traditional Scottish and Irish tunes, but many well known American
favorites. The total repertoire contains over 63 tunes. St. Andrews Band
is one of the few remaining pipe bands in the USA to still wear Military
dress as their main theme. The tartan worn by the band is the
Logan/MacLennan clan tartan. The Pipe Major is Mike LoBue. The Drum
Major is Al Libby, from the 48th Highlanders of Canada..

to share the
condo and split the rate? The management has OK’d that, too.)
Initial arrival of the executive board (and whoever else would like to
join us) is
planned for Wednesday, May 18th with Thursday, May 19th being used for
board
duties relating to the reunion. All others are welcome to check in

anticipated that most of our members will arrive on Friday, May 20th for
Friday’s and
Saturday’s activities. Check-out will be planned for Sunday, May 22nd.
